Lead Engineer

We are looking for a 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿 – 𝗧𝘂𝗻𝗲𝗿 & 𝗦𝗗𝗔𝗥𝗦 𝗦𝗼𝗳𝘁𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲. This is a specialist role at a major OEM, owning the design and development of tuner and satellite radio (SDARS) software components on Android with deep involvement in HAL development, Ethernet-based ECU communication, and cross-functional platform integration.

𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀:

• Design and develop the SXM HAL component for SDARS Tuner on Android, communicating with remote ECUs over Ethernet
• Work closely on Ethernet protocol handling and platform adaptation across AOSP and custom components
• Ensure component and interface designs align with overall architecture and comply with standard or custom AIDL interfaces
• Support cross-functional activities and collaborate with Remote Telematics teams on connectivity areas including Telephony, GNSS, Wi-Fi, IMU, and internet connectivity
• Liaise with partners, suppliers, and internal System and Product teams throughout the software development cycle
• Maintain full capability across configuration management, DevOps practices, and testing mechanisms to deliver quality code

𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀:

• 8–12 years of experience in embedded or automotive software development
• Strong OOP skills in C/C++/Java/Python; knowledge of React Native, Kotlin, or C# is a plus
• Solid technical depth in tuner features - AM, FM, DAB, SDARS, HD Radio — and associated hardware stacks
• Experience with Linux, Android, and QNX; awareness of hypervisor architectures
• Hands-on experience with communication protocols including HTTPS, RTP, WebSocket, Ethernet, UART, and SPI
• Proficient with SCM and DevOps tooling: Git, Gerrit, Jenkins, JIRA
• Experienced with debugging tools: GDB, JTAG, Lauterbach, ADB
• Knowledge of Functional Safety, SPICE processes, and Test-Driven Development

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Automotive Android OS (AOSP) at HAL and middleware layers
• Integration experience with audio subsystems and third-party engines on Android/Linux
• BE/BTech/ME/MTech/MS in Computer Science, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering
