Job Description

The Senior Accountant plays a critical role within our finance department, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. They are responsible for preparing and analyzing financial reports to ensure adherence to development standards and regulatory requirements. As a Senior Accountant, you will be a vital part of our strategic planning and financial decision-making team. You will oversee general accounting operations and controls. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, proficiency with accounting software, and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both financial and non-financial teams.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare timely and accurate consolidated financial statements and management reports.
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of all financial records and statements.
  • Reconcile balance sheets and bank accounts, resolving any discrepancies encountered.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes to meet deadlines.
  • Develop and implement financial systems and procedures to enhance internal controls.
  • Provide analysis and advice on financial implications related to business activities.
  • Coordinate and lead external audits and prepare supporting documentation as required.
  • Supervise junior accounting staff and provide training and mentorship as necessary.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance against budget and forecast objectives.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all financial information and adhere to data protection regulations.
  • Prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations and guidelines.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve any financial inquiries effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of five years of professional accounting experience in a corporate setting.
  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Proficient in accounting software, such as ERP systems, and MS Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to process complex data sets.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for varied audiences.
