Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Safety Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing organizational safety programs to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. This position requires the candidate to have a thorough knowledge of all health and safety laws to ensure compliance and keep the workplace hazard-free. The Safety Officer will conduct safety audits, training, and inspections to spotlight and mitigate potential risks. In this role, you'll work alongside multiple departments, making safety a collective priority among all employees. This job not only focuses on averting incidents but also promotes a culture of safety consciousness within the organization.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential risks or hazards.
  • Coordinate and conduct safety training sessions for employees at all levels.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, or near misses to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with management to address safety concerns and improve safety protocols.
  • Monitor workplace operations to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety-related incidents, training, and audits.
  • Prepare reports and present findings to management to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Act as a point of contact for all safety-related inquiries and issues.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and preventive action among employees.
  • Stay informed on current safety regulations and update procedures as necessary.
  • Ensure the availability and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) on site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, health, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a safety officer role or similar position.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety and environmental laws and regulations is essential.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Strong communication skills to conduct training and interact with employees effectively.
  • Certification in safety management, such as CSP or NEBOSH, is a significant advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teams to achieve safety objectives.
