Job Description

The Reinsurance Manager is a crucial role in the insurance industry, responsible for managing relationships with reinsurance partners and ensuring optimal risk distribution. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic reinsurance programs in alignment with risk management objectives.
  • Negotiate, evaluate, and secure reinsurance contracts that optimize cost benefits.
  • Analyze reinsurance market trends to maintain a competitive strategic advantage.
  • Collaborate with underwriting teams to identify and assess risk transfer opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with reinsurance brokers and partners.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management decision-making purposes.
  • Monitor existing reinsurance contracts and update them as necessary to mitigate risks.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal company policies for reinsurance agreements.
  • Lead negotiations for facultative reinsurance placements and renewals.
  • Supervise a team, providing guidance and developmental opportunities for junior staff members.
  • Work closely with the actuarial team to analyze reinsurance structures and their impact.
  • Drive process enhancements for improved efficiency and profitability in reinsurance operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, insurance, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in reinsurance or related insurance industry roles.
  • Proven track record of successful negotiation and management of reinsurance agreements.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using reinsurance software and analytical tools.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience mentoring and supervising junior staff.
