Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Associate to join our growing healthcare team. As a Pharmacy Associate, you will play a crucial role in providing support to licensed pharmacists in dispensing medications and maintaining customer records. You will be involved in providing top-notch customer service to patients by assisting them with their pharmaceutical needs under the supervision of the pharmacist. Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescribed medications efficiently and accurately.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and handling insurance queries with professionalism.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries and concerns promptly.
  • Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, stocking, and tracking pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Collaborate closely with healthcare providers to optimize patient medication plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, policy, and accreditation requirements in the pharmacy.
  • Assist in the training and orientation of new staff members and pharmacy interns.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Operate the cash register and manage financial transactions accurately.
  • Stay informed about new pharmaceuticals and changes in medication guidelines or protocols.
  • Prepare labels and packaging for medications under the guidance of the pharmacist.
  • Support the pharmacist in the billing process and preparation of insurance documentation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; pharmacy technician certification is a plus.
  • Previous experience working in a pharmacy or healthcare environment preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are essential.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and healthcare professionals.
  • Proficient in using pharmacy software and other relevant computer applications.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and pharmacy protocols is required.
  • Dedication to maintaining patient confidentiality and demonstrating ethical behavior.
