Job Description

A Junior Merchandiser plays a critical role in the retail supply chain by ensuring that the right products are available at the right time and in the right quantities to meet consumer demand. This position involves working closely with both the purchasing and sales teams to optimize product availability and enhance customer satisfaction. The Junior Merchandiser will analyze market trends, track inventory levels, and strategize on the placement of products within stores or online platforms. While being a support role, it requires a strong ability to multitask and a keen sense for consumer trends. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about the fast-paced world of retail and looking to grow their skills in merchandising and product management.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and implementing merchandising strategies within the designated areas.
  • Support the senior merchandising team in analyzing sales figures and market trends.
  • Monitor inventory levels and suggest actions to optimize stock rotations.
  • Organize samples and product displays for promotional activities and store layout changes.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and sales teams to ensure smooth product transitions.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential product lines and pricing strategies.
  • Prepare detailed reports on product performance and offer recommendations for improvements.
  • Engage with suppliers to gather product information and negotiate prices if necessary.
  • Participate in store visits to review and refine merchandise presentation and organization.
  • Utilize analytics tools to forecast demand and plan inventory accordingly.
  • Ensure that all products are correctly priced and labeled according to company guidelines.
  • Support in managing merchandise photo shoots, ensuring the images align with brand standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis.
  • Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail in managing multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently as needed.
  • Experience with retail management systems or merchandising software beneficial.
  • Demonstrated interest in the retail or fashion industry is highly advantageous.
