The IT Project Manager is a vital role within the IT department that leverages leadership and organizational skills to coordinate technology projects. This position is responsible for managing IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within scope and budget. The IT Project Manager works closely with cross-functional teams including developers, system analysts, and other stakeholders. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of project management methodologies, excellent communication skills, and the ability to drive projects toward successful completion. This role requires experience with project management software and a comprehensive understanding of current IT trends and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, execution, and closure of IT-specific projects ensuring deadlines are met.
• Define project scope and objectives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
• Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
• Develop a detailed project plan to track progress and manage changes to the project scope.
• Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques to identify areas of improvement.
• Ensure resource availability and allocation, arranging necessary staff training sessions when needed.
• Generate project status reports and communicate progress to all stakeholders promptly.
• Effectively manage the relationship with clients and all stakeholders through open communication.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to ensure successful project completion.
• Facilitate project meetings ensuring agendas are adhered to and minutes documented accurately.
• Provide thought leadership to team members and peers to drive technology projects to successful outcome.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including necessary updates and adjustments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven working experience as a project manager in the information technology sector.
• Strong understanding of formal project management methodologies like Agile or Scrum.
• Solid technical background with understanding or hands-on experience in IT systems.
• Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams through complex projects.
• Proficiency with project management software tools, such as Microsoft Project or JIRA.
