Job Description

As an HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of employees, contractors, and visitors at our organization. Your primary responsibility will be to design, implement, and maintain effective health and safety policies to minimize risks and promote a culture of safety excellence. You will be tasked with monitoring and evaluating workplace environments, conducting training, and ensuring compliance with legal health and safety regulations. You will also perform risk assessments, facilitate emergency response plans, and coordinate incident investigations when necessary. With a strong commitment to safety, you will ensure that all safety procedures are adhered to and will work to continuously improve safety protocols company-wide. Your role will be crucial in fostering a safe workplace environment and promoting sustainable practices across all operations.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential workplace hazards.
  • Provide training sessions and workshops to educate employees on safety standards.
  • Evaluate existing safety programs and recommend improvements or new initiatives.
  • Lead and coordinate emergency response drills and outline action plans.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
  • Investigate workplace accidents and incidents, identifying root causes and preventive measures.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, violations, and corrective actions.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure adherence to HSE laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with departments to integrate safety practices into daily operations.
  • Manage personal protective equipment issuance and monitor usage compliance.
  • Prepare detailed reports on safety performance metrics and safety audit findings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an HSE Coordinator or similar role in a comparable industry.
  • Thorough understanding of safety management systems and risk assessment processes.
  • Excellent knowledge of legal health and safety guidelines and regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for training and leadership.
  • Proficiency in using safety management software and standard office applications.
