Job Description

The Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Coordinator plays a critical role in fostering a safe and environmentally friendly workplace. Tasked with ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, this position involves developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs that minimize risks and foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility. The HSE Coordinator collaborates with various departments to educate employees on best safety practices and environmental conservation efforts. They conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to safety protocols and take corrective actions when necessary. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and a passion for enforcing workplace health and safety standards to prevent accidents and promote employee well-being.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive health, safety, and environmental programs and policies.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards in the workplace.
  • Coordinate and conduct regular training sessions on safety protocols and environmental regulations.
  • Ensure company compliance with local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain detailed records of safety inspections, incidents, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Collaborate with department heads to assess safety and environmental risks and devise mitigation strategies.
  • Investigate workplace incidents and accidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare and submit necessary reports and documentation to regulatory authorities as required.
  • Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility throughout the organization.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in health, safety, and environmental practices.
  • Participate in the planning of emergency management and response procedures and drills.
  • Advise management on safety and environmental issues and sustainability opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an HSE role within an industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal HSE regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for training and compliance purposes.
  • Ability to analyze complex safety data and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Proven experience in conducting safety audits and incident investigations.
  • Relevant professional certifications, such as OSHA Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.
