Job Description

The position of a Housekeeping Supervisor is a pivotal role in ensuring that the premises of an establishment maintain a high standard of cleanliness and order. As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you will oversee the housekeeping team in their daily activities, provide training and support where necessary, and ensure adherence to cleaning protocols. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership qualities, strong organizational skills, and an eye for detail, ensuring that each guest or resident enjoys a clean, welcoming environment. Your role will also require effective communication with management and staff to address any issues and enhance service delivery. The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a crucial role in upholding the reputation of the establishment by ensuring that cleanliness and hygiene are prioritized at all times.


Responsibilities

  • Supervise and delegate tasks to housekeeping staff for efficient operations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of rooms and public areas for cleanliness.
  • Train new housekeeping staff in cleaning procedures and policies.
  • Maintain inventory and conduct audits of cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure that health, hygiene, and safety standards are consistently met.
  • Address guest complaints and requests promptly and professionally.
  • Schedule and manage staff shifts to ensure adequate coverage at all times.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate large cleaning projects.
  • Develop and implement strategies for continuous service improvement.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on housekeeping activities and issues.
  • Evaluate staff performance and provide constructive feedback and recognition.
  • Coordinate with maintenance for necessary repairs and upkeep of facilities.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within a housekeeping department.
  • Strong understanding of cleaning procedures and health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to manage a busy workload.
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with staff and management.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions confidently and promptly.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and procurement practices for supplies.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification is a plus.
