Job Description

The role of a Financial Controller involves overseeing the financial operations and accounting functions of the organization. As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for managing the production of periodic financial reports, maintaining an adequate system of accounting records, and developing a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk. You will work closely with upper management to produce accurate financial statements and reports, ensuring that the company's financial status is communicated in a timely and efficient manner. This position requires a strong understanding of financial and accounting principles, a knack for detail, and the ability to lead financial strategies to foster long-term financial health and success of the company.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports on a regular basis for executive review.
  • Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors.
  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with GAAP.
  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting processes and revise as necessary.
  • Develop financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements.
  • Ensure that the company's financial practices are compliant with all legal regulations.
  • Analyze operational issues and provide cost-effective solutions and recommendations.
  • Lead financial transformation initiatives to optimize financial operations and outcomes.
  • Review and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Support the company's strategic goals by providing accurate financial analysis and insight.
  • Engage in critical analysis of financial performance and present findings to leadership.
  • Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering an environment of professional development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field required.
  • At least 7–10 years of progressively responsible financial management experience.
  • Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team.
  • Experience in working with ERP systems and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution, providing financial insights.
