Job Description

A Field Service Engineer is a vital link between the organization and its clients, primarily responsible for implementing, maintaining, and repairing equipment at customer sites. This position involves a mix of technical expertise and customer service, as Field Service Engineers must diagnose complex issues and provide effective solutions in a timely manner. They play a critical role in ensuring that clients' equipment and machinery operate efficiently and effectively, maximizing productivity and minimizing downtime. This role requires a combination of hands-on technical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients. Field Service Engineers often work independently, handling multiple customer accounts and must manage their time and resources wisely to deliver exceptional service. A high degree of technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and the capacity to work under pressure are essential for success in this position.


Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair equipment and machinery at customer sites nationwide.
  • Diagnose technical issues and provide effective solutions to ensure equipment functionality.
  • Interact with clients to understand their service needs and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Document all service and repair activities accurately for organizational records.
  • Provide training and guidance to operators and users of the equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while performing job duties.
  • Conduct regular follow-up inspections and preventive maintenance of installed equipment.
  • Manage tools and parts inventory to ensure availability during service calls.
  • Prepare detailed service reports and provide updates to management as required.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve and update service methodologies.
  • Travel extensively to various sites, sometimes requiring overnight stays.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry standards and technological advancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar field service position.
  • Strong diagnostic and technical skills with proficiency in troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight and weekend assignments.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a company vehicle.
