The Food & Beverage (F&B) Service Expert is a crucial part of the hospitality team, ensuring an exceptional dining experience for guests. This role requires a dynamic individual with a passion for service, detailed knowledge of food and beverages, and an understanding of how to create a welcoming environment. An F&B Service Expert works in a fast-paced and often high-pressure environment, requiring professionalism, impeccable service skills, and the ability to multitask. They must also be team-oriented, working closely with kitchen staff, management, and other service personnel to deliver a seamless hospitality experience. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, both in listening and speaking, to effectively interact with customers and resolve any service issues that may arise. A focus on exceeding customer expectations by providing warm, courteous, and informative service will differentiate the successful candidate in this role.


Responsibilities

  • Greet guests with a warm welcome and offer prompt, courteous service.
  • Provide detailed descriptions of menu items, including ingredients and preparation methods.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders and efficiently relay them to the kitchen.
  • Ensure timely delivery of food and beverages to tables in a professional manner.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and address any questions or concerns promptly.
  • Assist in the setup and cleanup of dining areas, ensuring cleanliness and order.
  • Maintain knowledge of all menu items, including daily specials and promotions.
  • Upsell and suggest additional menu items to enhance guest experiences.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to accommodate special requests or dietary requirements.
  • Handle guest complaints gracefully, following the appropriate resolution procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate any shortages to management.
  • Attend training sessions and team meetings to enhance service skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a food and beverage service position within a reputable establishment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with diverse guests effectively.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of food, beverage, and wine-pairing to offer informed recommendations.
  • Professional demeanour and excellent customer service skills to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash handling procedures.
