Job Description

As a Commis II, you will be an essential part of the kitchen team, contributing to the culinary experiences of our guests by assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for cooking to further their skills under the guidance of our head chefs. You will be responsible for ensuring all food is prepared to the highest standards and served in line with our quality guidelines. You will work closely with other team members to ensure smooth operations and maintain high levels of hygiene and safety. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes under guidance of chefs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen areas.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Assist in daily mise en place and ensure ingredient availability for service.
  • Contribute ideas for menu development and improvements to the culinary team.
  • Ensure all food items are prepared and presented in line with restaurant standards.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate the preparation and cooking processes.
  • Learn and develop cooking techniques from senior kitchen staff and chefs.
  • Handle and store food items according to food safety standards and protocols.
  • Participate in the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment and utensils.
  • Assist in inventory checks and report shortages or issues to the Head Chef.
  • Follow recipes accurately to maintain consistency in taste and presentation.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment is highly desirable but not essential.
  • A passion for cooking and an eagerness to learn and improve skills.
  • Basic knowledge of various cooking techniques and food preparation processes.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage time efficiently in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality dishes.
  • Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
