Job Description

The Assistant Store Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the daily operations and management of a retail store. Responsibilities

  • Support the Store Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the store.
  • Supervise and provide leadership to store employees to ensure top-notch performance.
  • Assist in recruiting and training of new staff members to maintain a skilled workforce.
  • Manage inventory levels, including ordering, stocking, and organizing store merchandise.
  • Ensure that all staff adhere to the store's policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve sales and customer service initiatives.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to customer inquiries and resolve any complaints.
  • Coordinate and execute store promotions, sales events, and employee schedules.
  • Monitor performance metrics and prepare reports for upper management analysis.
  • Maintain the visual merchandising standards by managing store displays and layouts.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the store environment.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager to achieve operational and financial goals.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a retail management or supervisory role is essential.
  • Proven track record of improving sales figures and achieving targets.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate others.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Proficiency in using retail management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in business management is preferred.
