Job Description

An Electronics Technician 14N25 is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of electronic systems, components, and equipment within a specified operational framework. Working closely with engineering teams and other technical personnel, they ensure that all electronic devices and systems are operating at optimal levels. These technicians often work in environments such as manufacturing plants, research facilities, or military installations, where precision and efficiency are crucial. Apart from maintaining hardware, they may also be involved in software updates and system calibrations. This role requires a high level of technical knowledge coupled with practical skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues swiftly and effectively.


Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in electronic systems and components.
  • Perform routine maintenance and updates on electronic equipment and software.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to test and repair hardware malfunctions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and technical standards during operations.
  • Document and report all maintenance and repair activities meticulously.
  • Calibrate and adjust electronic equipment to meet precise operational specifications.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians and apprentices.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and manuals to enhance problem-solving accuracy.
  • Conduct quality inspections to verify the functionality of repaired equipment.
  • Manage inventory of electronic components, tools, and equipment effectively.
  • Consult with design engineers on circuit modifications and enhancements.
  • Participate in training sessions to keep updated with emerging technologies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; advanced technical certification preferred.
  • Proven experience as an electronics technician or similar role is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and electronic testing instruments.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical dexterity for handling equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in technical tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team-oriented environment.
  • Effective communication skills for interaction with engineers and other technicians.
