Job Description

A Security Shift Leader maintains constant vigilance over all hotel activities and property areas, ensuring a safe and secure environment for Guests, Team Members, contractors, and visitors. This role oversees daily security operations, responds to incidents promptly and professionally, and provides guidance and leadership to the Security Team. The Shift Leader ensures that all security procedures, documentation, and safety protocols comply with legal, brand, and company standards.

What will I be doing?

As a Security Shift Leader, you are responsible for the safety and security of all Guests, Team Members and contractors, and visitors while at the hotel. A Security Shift Leader is also responsible for the safety and security of the hotel premises and the oversight of the Security Team. Specifically, the Security Shift Leader will perform the following tasks at the highest level of service:

  • Oversee daily security operations, respond promptly to incidents, and provide leadership and guidance to the Security Team.
  • Monitor security systems, patrol designated areas, and address potential risks proactively.
  • Maintain accurate reports, logs, incident records, and key control systems in compliance with legal, company, and brand standards.
  • Investigate incidents thoroughly, document findings clearly, and implement preventive measures to avoid re-occurrences.
  • Recommend improvements to surveillance systems, security procedures, and fire safety measures.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor Security Team members, organize work schedules, assign tasks, and ensure adherence to all policies.
  • Conduct regular briefings with the Security Team to share updates, review procedures, and maintain operational cohesion.
  • Coordinate with other hotel departments to support smooth operations and maintain a safe environment for all.


What are we looking for?

A Security Shift Leader serving Hilton brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

  • Previous security experience, preferably working within an industry which monitored large volumes of people movement
  • Experience in planning, organizing, and enforcing security systems
  • Current and working knowledge (proof of valid qualifications required) of fire, safety, and first aid
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
  • Excellent personal presentation


It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Previous training experience with relevant qualifications
