Job Description

As a Store Keeper, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and distribution activities. This position involves tasks related to managing inventories, keeping records, and ensuring goods are stored efficiently in the designated facility. The Store Keeper is responsible for maintaining the physical and logical integrity of the warehouse by enforcing the company’s policies and procedures. This job requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have experience in stock management and a proactive approach to optimizing inventory levels, ensuring that the warehouse operations meet both company requirements and safety standards.


Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and invoices.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory and stock management systems according to set standards.
  • Ensure up-to-date documentation including delivery notes, shipping orders, and stock levels.
  • Handle stock replenishment, process orders, and manage returns of undelivered goods.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory checks to confirm stock levels match documentation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the storage facility for optimal access and safety.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and transport companies for efficient inventory logistics.
  • Report any discrepancies or damage in inventory to management for timely resolution.
  • Ensure that the storeroom adheres to health and safety regulations at all times.
  • Operate and manage warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, proficiently.
  • Implement and suggest process improvements for increased efficiency and better storage solutions.
  • Train new staff in the proper procedures for storing and handling inventory items.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certification or degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience working as a Store Keeper or in a similar role.
  • Proficient in inventory management software and other related systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and operate warehouse equipment safely.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members and suppliers.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
