Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Shop Assistant for our lighting store, Lights 08JN26. As a Shop Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our store operates smoothly and that our customers have a positive shopping experience. You will be tasked with a variety of duties that include greeting customers, answering inquiries, stocking shelves, handling transactions, and maintaining the overall appearance of the store. You should be able to work both independently and as part of a team, with a positive attitude and strong communication skills. Your goal will be to provide exemplary customer service and foster a welcoming environment to enhance customer satisfaction.


Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers with product inquiries and selection.
  • Provide detailed information about lighting products and features.
  • Process transactions accurately and efficiently at the checkout.
  • Stock and organize shelves to maintain a presentable store layout.
  • Assist in the setup and display of promotional materials.
  • Handle customer complaints and returns with professionalism.
  • Keep the store clean, tidy, and compliant with safety regulations.
  • Conduct inventory checks and report discrepancies to management.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest product offerings and trends.
  • Contribute to team meetings and provide feedback on store operations.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to email inquiries promptly.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets and objectives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification is required.
  • Previous retail or customer service experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Basic math skills for handling cash transactions are needed.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale systems is an advantage.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle customer issues.
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude towards customer interactions.
