Responsibilities

  • Attend vehicle breakdowns on the airside in coordination with the RFC (Ramp Fleet Coordinator) to identify technical faults and solve the problem with minimal recovery time.
  • Conduct technical inspection on vehicles based on the fault reported by the operator and confirm whether the fault persists and identify the root cause and resolve the problem.
  • Participate in the accident investigation procedures to identify the root cause, provide technical feedback to the Ramp Fleet Coordinator as and when required to avoid reoccurrence.
  • Prepare preliminary technical reports to airlines via the Assistant Manager – Fleet with the root cause, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) pertaining to flight delays caused due to vehicle technical failure.
  • Identify underlying faults in the equipment and initiate necessary escalations and follow-ups to rectify issues during scheduled repairs prior to operational delivery of the Hi-loader adhering to all quality standard regulations.
  • Conduct fault diagnosis at the workshop using the diagnostic tools and equipment as per manufacturer guidelines, facilitate vehicle /body computer software updates to upgrade the fleet.
  • Deliver high level of technical expertise to perform the quick retrieval of assets from the ramp to ensure business continuity.
  • Ensure the breakdown response priority matrix and recovery KPI’s are achieved to deliver the required levels of quality and service.

Qualifications

  • Higher Secondary Certificate Qualification or equivalent qualification (must have).
  • ITI (Industrial Training Institute) Certification in Diesel Mechanic/Fitter/Auto Electrician or equivalent qualification (must have)
  • Certified in Operational and maintenance training from equipment manufacturers or authorized dealerships (preferred)
  • Minimum experience of 4 years’ in similar role in ground support equipment workshops/organizations in the field of vehicle /Ground support equipment maintenance.
  • Able to diagnose and troubleshoot the live fleet on site (without impacting the operation)
  • Knowledge and technical expertise of Mechanical, Auto electrical, Vehicle instrumentation, Automobile Air-Conditioning, Refrigeration systems, Welding and Fabrication.
  • Knowledge of methods and techniques of performing advanced diagnostic troubleshooting services.
  • Operations, services and activities of a fleet maintenance and repair program.
  • Specialized training in hydraulics/lifting equipment. (preferred)
  • Specialized training on PLCs and computer-aided diagnosis would be an advantage (preferred)
  • Should be well versed in written and spoken English.
  • Trained in First Aid, Safety/ basic firefighting (preferred).
