Job Overview

As a Manager - Digital Governance at Emirates NBD, your role is is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and enhancing governance oversight across digital banking products, customer journeys, onboarding processes, payments, and digital feature releases. The role ensures that digital initiatives are aligned with internal policies, regulatory requirements, conduct standards, consumer protection obligations, operational risk expectations, and the organization’s risk appetite. The position acts as a key governance partner to business, product, technology, operations, risk, compliance, legal, and financial crime stakeholders to support sustainable growth, effective controls, and strong customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead governance oversight and thematic reviews across digital onboarding, payments, customer journeys, digital product features, and change initiatives.
  • Design, maintain, and continuously improve governance frameworks, review matrices, policies, procedures, and standard operating guidelines for digital banking activities.
  • Assess new digital products, material changes, customer journeys, and feature releases to ensure appropriate controls are embedded before launch.
  • Monitor regulatory developments impacting digital banking, fintech, conduct risk, consumer protection, data quality, customer disclosures, consent management, and operational resilience.
  • Translate regulatory and internal policy requirements into practical governance controls, business requirements, and remediation actions.
  • Conduct control testing, assurance reviews, and root-cause analysis of recurring governance, compliance, operational, and non-financial risk issues.
  • Identify control gaps, document findings, agree corrective actions with stakeholders, and track remediation through to closure.
  • Prepare governance reports, dashboards, management information, issue trackers, and trend analysis for senior leadership and governance forums.
  • Coordinate cross-functional governance committees by preparing agendas, meeting materials, minutes, decisions, and follow-up action trackers.
  • Partner with business, product, technology, operations, risk, compliance, legal, financial crime, and internal audit teams to ensure effective risk management and informed decision-making.
  • Support internal audits, regulatory reviews, assurance engagements, and governance forums by evidencing control effectiveness and remediation progress.
  • Promote a strong governance culture by providing guidance to stakeholders on control expectations, documentation standards, regulatory obligations, and customer outcome considerations.

Skills And Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in governance, regulatory compliance, control oversight, operational risk, assurance, or related banking functions.
  • Strong experience within UAE banking, digital banking, fintech, retail banking, or financial services environments.
  • Proven background in governance frameworks, regulatory compliance testing, thematic reviews, issue management, and remediation tracking.
  • Experience reviewing digital onboarding, customer due diligence, payments, disclosures, complaint handling, customer consent, and consumer protection controls.
  • Exposure to UAE Central Bank regulations, AML/CFT requirements, conduct risk, consumer protection standards, and non-financial risk management.
  • Experience working with business, product, technology, operations, risk, compliance, legal, audit, and financial crime stakeholders.
