Position Overview
This internship offers hands-on experience in food safety, hygiene, and process engineering within Ecolab’s F&B operations. The intern will work alongside engineers and technical teams, gaining practical exposure to safety practices, process systems, and continuous improvement, while delivering a small-scale engineering project.
Key Responsibilities
Complete onboarding and compliance training (systems, ethics, and company policies)
Gain an understanding of Ecolab’s F&B business and customer solutions
Participate in safety training, including PPE, Stop Work Authority, and incident reporting
Support site/office safety walkthroughs and compliance checks
Learn fundamentals of Clean-in-Place (CIP) systems and hygiene principles
Shadow engineering and technical teams during operational activities
Develop a basic process flow diagram (PFD)
Identify and define a small engineering or process improvement opportunity
Collect and analyze basic operational data
Develop recommendations to improve safety, efficiency, or sustainability
Prepare and deliver a final presentation with key findings and insights
Submit a short reflection on learning outcomes
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Food Engineering (or related field)
Strong interest in food safety, process engineering, or industrial operations
Basic analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective communication and presentation abilities
