About The Position
The Assistant Manager - Learning and Development supports the strategic execution of training and development initiatives across the properties operational departments. This role plays a key part in delivering seamless learning experiences, managing learning systems, and supporting the design and delivery of engaging training programs. Working closely with the Manager of L&D, this position ensures that all learning activities align with Wynn’s luxury service standards and operational goals.
Responsibilities
The primary duties and responsibilities of this role are:
Act as a business partner to operational departments, assisting departmental trainers and department heads to identify departmental training needs and aligning all learning programs and resources to property-wide standards.
Collaborate with Departmental Heads to identify learning gaps, develop and design learning interventions and drive performance improvement plans.
Support the overall Learning and Development team by driving training and awareness of brand values and service culture across all operational areas.
Ensure all learning activities and resources are aligned to the brand, regulatory and Forbes Travel Guide standards.
Monitor guest experience metrics and identify service improvements, integrating insights into monthly training plans.
Guide, coach and mentor a pool of departmental trainers to deliver consistent, high-quality training.
Monitor and evaluate departmental training effectiveness, providing feedback and action plans for service improvement.
Develop and upskill departmental trainers through regular workshops, upskilling programs and performance reviews.
Apply project management skills to coordinate multiple training programs with competing deadlines.
Track and coordinate attendance for mandatory training sessions and property-wide learning events.
Collaborate with Wynn Resorts training partners to share best practices and leverage shared resources.
Mentor junior L&D team members and support their professional development.
Maintain project timelines, manage resources, and work independently with minimal supervision.
Maintain accuracy in administrative records for all learning and engagement reports and materials.
Adhere to all rules and regulations in accordance with business related policies.
Demonstrate a high level of resort and product knowledge, regularly attend training as required by the business.
Report directly to the L&D Manager and perform any additional responsibilities as assigned.
About You
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business or Hospitality preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a Training, Facilitator or Learning and Development Role.
Minimum 2 years of experience in hospitality operations with a strong understanding of luxury service standards.
Proven ability to design and deliver engaging training through instructor-led sessions, on-the-job learning, and digital platforms
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage all levels of the organization
Strong organizational and time management skills; able to manage multiple priorities under pressure
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with design software and tools is a plus
Familiarity with Learning Management Systems and eLearning development tools preferred
Flexible working schedule, including availability to work on weekends and holidays as needed
Demonstrates Professional Grooming & appearance, and adhere s to company and regulatory standards .
