Job Description

An Accounts Assistant is a vital member of the finance team, supporting the finance manager and accountants by performing clerical tasks, including processing and recording transactions, preparing reports, and filing documents. This role requires a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, and a good understanding of accounting principles. The Accounts Assistant must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to communicate effectively with both internal teams and external suppliers or clients. Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of financial records and reports.
  • Process incoming payments and ensure proper documentation and file management.
  • Handle bookkeeping duties such as managing accounts payable and receivable.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and balance sheets.
  • Manage bank reconciliations and assist in resolving discrepancies or errors.
  • Support the team with data entry tasks and financial transactions recording.
  • Participate in budget preparation and forecasting activities as requested.
  • Assist in preparing and filing tax documents and other statutory reports.
  • Liaise with clients and suppliers regarding financial transactions and queries.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to gather necessary financial information.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting principles.
  • Provide general administrative support to the finance department as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional finance courses are a plus.
  • Previous experience in a similar accounting support role is preferred.
  • Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interactions.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial terminology is required.
