Job Purpose:

The Site Engineer is responsible for managing the on-site execution of retail and food & beverage projects within UAE airports (mainly) and other ELR/MMI locations, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and compliance with design, operational, and regulatory standards. The Site Project Engineer plays a critical role in coordinating between contractors, consultants, vendors, and internal project teams to deliver high-quality spaces that align with brand standards and enhance the overall customer experience. Strong attention to detail, site-based project management expertise, and experience within airport environments are essential to the success of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Project & Site Coordination (Key focus Dubai Airport projects)

• Oversee site activities for retail store and F&B outlet fit-outs, refurbishments, and new builds.
• Coordinate with architects, designers, MEP engineers, Landlord Authority Representatives and Contractors to ensure adherence to approved designs and specifications.
• Manage the installation of kitchen equipment, cold storage units, exhaust systems, and retail fixtures.
• Schedule and track project milestones, ensuring timely handover.

Compliance & Quality Control

• Ensure projects comply with food safety, hygiene, and local authority regulations (e.g., HACCP, health codes, fire safety, ventilation requirements).
• Conduct site inspections to verify workmanship, material quality, and safety compliance.
• Ensure adherence to brand standards in finishes, layouts, and customer experience elements.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

• Implement site safety protocols and ensure contractors comply with HSE standards.
• Conduct safety briefings and monitor high-risk activities (kitchen equipment installation, MEP works).

Technical Support & Problem Solving

• Provide engineering solutions to site issues such as MEP conflicts, ventilation challenges, or layout adjustments, communicate the same to the Project Manager and Design Team.
• Review and interpret technical drawings, shop drawings, and as-built documentation.

Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain site logs, Risk registers, and project documentation.
• Communicate project updates to the Project Manager and stakeholders.
• Ensure Site progress reports are coordinated with Contractors, prepared and shared with the Project Managers.
• Support in the preparation of handover files and O&M manuals.

Required Experience, Skills & Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
• 3–5 years of site engineering/project engineering experience, preferably in retail or F&B fit-out projects.
• Experience in delivering Projects in Airports, Dubai Airport highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of kitchen layouts, HVAC, plumbing, and MEP services related to restaurants and retail spaces.
• Familiarity with health, safety, and food hygiene codes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera, and MS Office tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
