The Technical Sales Manager will lead, grow, and oversee the commercial and operational performance of an Oilfield Services Machine Shop business. The role requires strong technical knowledge of machining operations, commercial acumen, and the ability to manage key oil & gas customers while ensuring compliance, quality, and profitability.
Business Development & Growth
- Develop and implement strategies to grow the Machine Shop business across the UAE and GCC.
- Identify new business opportunities with both internal and external customers.
- Maintain strong relationships with major oilfield clients, including ADNOC and its subsidiaries.
- Conduct market analysis to expand customer base, increase revenue, and improve profit margins.
- Position the company as a preferred choice by enhancing ICV performance and compliance with ADNOC ICV requirements.
Technical & Operational Oversight
- Demonstrate strong understanding of CNC machines, lathe machines, carbide welding, cold cutting operations, threading, repair, and other machining services.
- Work closely with workshops and production teams to ensure technical accuracy, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Understand the lifecycle of machining processes and provide technical solutions to customers.
- Guide the team in optimizing workflows, upgrading technologies, and adopting new best practices.
Quality, Compliance & Audits
- Ensure all premium licenses, technical certifications, and machining qualifications are maintained.
- Oversee API and ISO audits, ensuring full compliance with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and improve quality control processes to meet premium thread requirements and customer specifications.
- Ensure documentation, traceability, and quality records meet audit and client expectations.
Commercial Management
- Develop competitive quotations, pricing strategies, and commercial proposals.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with customers to maximize profitability.
- Monitor project margins, cost structures, and revenue forecasts to ensure commercial targets are met.
- Collaborate with finance and operations teams to ensure healthy cost-management practices.
Client Relationship Management
- Maintain close engagement with internal customers (operational divisions) and external clients.
- Conduct regular site visits, technical presentations, and customer reviews.
- Provide timely updates on job status, technical concerns, and service improvements.
Process Improvement & Strategic Leadership
- Implement best-in-class processes and systems to streamline operations and improve overall business performance.
- Introduce KPIs, dashboards, and reporting tools to track sales performance, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Support senior leadership in strategic planning and long-term investment decisions for the Machine Shop.

Commercial Skills
- Proven ability to develop sales strategies, pricing models, and commercial proposals.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of increasing margins and securing long-term contracts.
- Ability to analyze market trends and competitive landscapes.
Industry & Market Knowledge
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in Oilfield Services, Machine Shop Operations, or related technical-sales roles.
- Experience in the UAE market is mandatory; additional GCC market experience is preferred.
- Deep understanding of UAE local machine shops, customer needs, and industry opportunities.
- Knowledge of the ADNOC ICV program and how to strategically improve ICV scores.
- Arabic language skills are an added advantage.
Leadership & Management Skills
- Experience managing cross-functional teams (sales, operations, QA/QC, workshop).
- Ability to introduce processes, improve workflows, and drive continuous improvement.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining, lathe operations, cold cutting, carbide welding, threading, and general machine shop processes.
- Good understanding of API and ISO standards relevant to machining and oilfield services.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and machining tolerances.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical – Preferred), Manufacturing, or related discipline.
- Valid UAE driving license.
- Strong professionalism, reliability, and customer-focused approach.
