We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting a wide range of accounting tasks, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the financial data and reports that our organization relies on. You will play a key role in financial planning, budgeting, and implementing effective financial controls. Additionally, you will help lead initiatives for process improvements and support senior management with financial insights and recommendations. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and managerial skills to guide the junior accounting team members effectively, along with the ability to handle complex financial situations with strategic thinking. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, proactive, and possess excellent analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation of financial statements and ensure their accurate delivery.
• Develop and maintain financial controls in accordance with governing policies and standards.
• Lead complex financial analyses and identify areas for improvement or risk mitigation.
• Coordinate the month-end and year-end closing processes with the finance team.
• Support budget development and financial forecasting activities regularly throughout the year.
• Manage and mentor junior accounting staff, offering guidance and performance reviews.
• Collaborate with departmental managers on financial plans and operational investments.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
• Maintain relationships with external auditors and streamline audit processes.
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis reports.
• Assist with special projects, often collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve goals.
• Continuously develop and improve financial and operational processes for efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• Professional accounting designation such as CPA, CMA, or equivalent is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in accounting or finance roles is necessary.
• Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills are essential.
• Proven experience in managing and leading finance teams effectively.
