Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dedicated construction team. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in our construction projects by ensuring that they are completed within the financial constraints and without compromising on quality. Your responsibilities will encompass all aspects of project costing from inception to completion, requiring strong attention to detail and financial acumen. The successful candidate will be adept at working collaboratively with various stakeholders, including clients, contractors, architects, and other consultants to ensure cost-effective solutions that meet project specifications and client expectations. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review project budgets and cost estimates during the planning phase.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability and cost-effectiveness of projects.
  • Accurately measure and value construction work as part of cost management.
  • Monitor project costs regularly and identify potential financial risks.
  • Prepare tender documents including bills of quantities for competitive bidding.
  • Negotiate contracts with contractors to obtain the best possible terms and prices.
  • Collaborate with project managers to track project progress and cost control measures.
  • Analyze work progress reports and provide solutions to manage cost overruns.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and ethical industry standards during contract management.
  • Provide detailed written reports to clients and stakeholders on financial progress.
  • Advise on procurement strategy and coordination of procurement activities.
  • Assist in the settlement of construction project accounts with attention to detail.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Professional certification or membership in relevant industry bodies is preferred.
  • At least three years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in cost estimation and financial analysis.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication abilities to liaise with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in relevant software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and cost estimating tools.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
