Development Engineer I – Large Caliber Ammunition Development (Lahab)

Join our Engineering & Development (E&D) team as a Development Engineer I, contributing to the design, development, qualification, and continuous improvement of large caliber ammunition systems. This role is ideal for early‑career engineers who are passionate about defense technology, hands‑on development, and delivering high‑quality engineered products.

About The Role

As a Development Engineer I, you will support end‑to‑end engineering activities across the ammunition development lifecycle. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams, suppliers, and EDGE partners to ensure technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and efficient execution of development projects. This position reports to the Manager: Large Caliber Ammunition Development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design of tooling, test equipment, and development test items.
  • Assist in preparing assembly instructions, test plans, and engineering procedures.
  • Participate in the assembly, manufacturing, and testing of tooling and hardware.
  • Provide technical support during development, validation, and qualification phases.
  • Contribute to testing, compliance activities, and documentation control.
  • Create technical drawings and engineering documentation for review and approval.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support project execution.
  • Perform MRP/ERP tasks and support supplier and vendor coordination.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.

  • 1–2 years of experience as a mechanical engineer, or completion of the IGNITE program.

Working Environment

This role is primarily office‑based with regular visits to integration, testing, and supplier facilities. You will be part of a dynamic engineering environment focused on innovation, precision, and continuous improvement.
