Job Title: Commissioning Electrical Supervisor

Job Location: Ruwais, Abu Dhabi – UAE

Job type/Contract: Contractual. Start on as soon as possible

Starting date: ASAP

Duration: 22 months (Extendable)

Hours/rotation: Rotation of 60 days on site and 10 days off (paid) & 2 days traveling (paid).

Salary range: Excellent salary package with benefits.

Job summary/Role description


  • Commissioning Electrical Supervisor executes the activities pertaining to his discipline in compliance with the quality requirements, health / environmental / safety regulations and following the stated procedures.
  • He / she reports to the Commissioning Electrical Superintendent (CET)
  • He / she is assigned to the Project by AVIMP Head of Department.


Duties and responsibilities


  • To develop the detailed pre-commissioning procedures for electrical items & packages, procedures for the functional tests of the electrical Items according to the instructions of Commissioning Electrical Superintendent.
  • To field check the DAC and prepare relevant commissioning punch list, following the CME instructions.
  • Follow up of activities according to the schedule and by applying the procedures and safety rules.
  • To organize and manage the operations in field of the assigned team from the sub-contractor by controlling their job and the implementation of plant safety procedures in case of emergency.
  • To keep records of all activities performed in the logbook for the purpose of monitoring the progress achieved and apply necessary recovery actions.
  • To supervise the activities of electrical substation power on and motor run in field.
  • Ensure the application of the TAG-OUT/LOCK OUT.
  • Support the Vendors specialists in the execution of the job and coordinate their actions with the commissioning supervisors.
  • Supervise the works of vendors’ specialists and ensure their efficient utilization.
  • During the execution of the interlocks, logic and sequence test, check in MCC that all the actions required or actuated from the board operator are properly performed.
  • Carry out operation of the starters as per the approved work permit request.
  • To ensure that all the activities are witnessed by the client, prepare and sign off all relevant certificates and hand over to certification engineer.
  • Can be the authorized person designated by the site manager to receive or issue a permit to work according to the project permit to work procedure.


Person Specification


Knowledge & Qualifications


  • University Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.


Experience


  • Minimum of 10 years work experience.
  • Significant experience in a similar position on EPC Oil & Gas projects/Refinery.


Skills and Abilities


  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail, management skills.
  • Team-oriented skills, self-motivation and direction, with strong bias toward timely performance and problem resolution.
