Job summary/Role description
Commissioning Electrical Supervisor executes the activities pertaining to his discipline in compliance with the quality requirements, health / environmental / safety regulations and following the stated procedures.
He / she reports to the Commissioning Electrical Superintendent (CET)
He / she is assigned to the Project by AVIMP Head of Department.
Duties and responsibilities
To develop the detailed pre-commissioning procedures for electrical items & packages, procedures for the functional tests of the electrical Items according to the instructions of Commissioning Electrical Superintendent.
To field check the DAC and prepare relevant commissioning punch list, following the CME instructions.
Follow up of activities according to the schedule and by applying the procedures and safety rules.
To organize and manage the operations in field of the assigned team from the sub-contractor by controlling their job and the implementation of plant safety procedures in case of emergency.
To keep records of all activities performed in the logbook for the purpose of monitoring the progress achieved and apply necessary recovery actions.
To supervise the activities of electrical substation power on and motor run in field.
Ensure the application of the TAG-OUT/LOCK OUT.
Support the Vendors specialists in the execution of the job and coordinate their actions with the commissioning supervisors.
Supervise the works of vendors’ specialists and ensure their efficient utilization.
During the execution of the interlocks, logic and sequence test, check in MCC that all the actions required or actuated from the board operator are properly performed.
Carry out operation of the starters as per the approved work permit request.
To ensure that all the activities are witnessed by the client, prepare and sign off all relevant certificates and hand over to certification engineer.
Can be the authorized person designated by the site manager to receive or issue a permit to work according to the project permit to work procedure.
Person Specification
Knowledge & Qualifications
University Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience
Minimum of 10 years work experience.
Significant experience in a similar position on EPC Oil & Gas projects/Refinery.
Skills and Abilities
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail, management skills.
Team-oriented skills, self-motivation and direction, with strong bias toward timely performance and problem resolution.
