What Youll Do

As Deputy Chief Compliance Officer you will be at the forefront of regulatory compliance efforts within a dynamic financial services environment. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating with multiple departments to ensure adherence to BSP regulations while proactively identifying risks that could impact business operations. You will develop comprehensive frameworks for managing AML/CTF obligations as well as data privacy concerns. By conducting regular audits and assessments you will help maintain high standards of integrity across all business units. Your advisory role will extend to drafting policies that support organisational goals while leading training sessions that empower employees with essential knowledge. Reporting directly to senior leadership you will communicate key risks and remediation strategies effectively. Additionally you will foster teamwork by mentoring your compliance colleagues—ensuring projects are executed efficiently—and work closely with Legal and Risk teams to address complex regulatory matters.

  • Ensure all operations comply with BSP regulations, relevant circulars, laws, and industry standards by monitoring activities across business units.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a risk-based compliance framework that addresses AML/CTF, data privacy, and operational risks throughout the organisation.
  • Identify potential compliance risks within various departments, recommend mitigation measures, and oversee their implementation to safeguard organisational integrity.
  • Conduct regular audits, reviews, and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of existing compliance programmes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Draft, review, and update internal policies, procedures, and controls to ensure they reflect current regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Provide expert guidance on compliance matters to management teams, business units, and employees regarding AML/CTF obligations and regulatory reporting.
  • Lead comprehensive training programmes for staff to promote understanding of organisational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for BSP inspections, audits, and regulatory inquiries by preparing documentation and facilitating communication.
  • Report compliance risks, issues, and remediation plans directly to the Board of Directors or Audit Committee in a clear and timely manner.
  • Supervise, mentor, and guide the compliance team in executing daily activities while overseeing budgets, projects, and collaborative initiatives with Legal, Risk, and other departments.

What You Bring

The ideal Deputy Chief Compliance Officer brings extensive experience from regulated financial environments along with deep familiarity with local regulations governing banking operations. Your academic background supports your technical expertise while professional certifications add further credibility. You have demonstrated success in managing complex compliance frameworks—particularly those involving AML/CTF protocols—and possess strong analytical capabilities for interpreting evolving regulatory landscapes. Your interpersonal skills enable you to provide clear guidance across diverse teams while your leadership qualities foster collaboration among colleagues. Integrity is central to your approach ensuring ethical conduct at all times. You are comfortable acting autonomously when necessary but equally value working together with others toward common goals.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration or related field; advanced degree preferred for deeper subject matter expertise.
  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in compliance roles within BSP-regulated financial institutions or financial services companies demonstrating proven track record.
  • Strong knowledge of BSP circulars as well as AML/CTF regulations data privacy requirements and Philippine financial regulations enabling effective oversight.
  • Professional certifications such as CAMS or equivalent are highly regarded for enhanced credibility in compliance functions.
  • Excellent analytical skills allowing you to interpret complex regulatory requirements accurately while identifying potential risks.
  • Outstanding leadership abilities demonstrated through previous supervisory roles mentoring teams towards shared objectives.
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal enabling clear guidance across all levels of the organisation.
  • High integrity coupled with strong ethical standards ensuring responsible decision-making in sensitive situations.
  • Ability to act independently when required while also thriving in collaborative settings involving cross-functional teams.
