The Safety, Health, and Environmental Manager is responsible for building and sustaining proactive SHE Management culture by providing functional leadership, ensuring effective governance and programs, providing oversight and advisory to ensure alignment of purpose and organizational objectives and goals. He/She is responsible for the promotion, creation and maintaining a safe and healthy workplace to safeguard the health and safety of the employees and ensure sustainable operations protecting the environment.
Manage SHE Team by monitoring work performance, supporting development, motivating and allocating resources to effectively implement SHE plans and programs.
Develop and evaluate SHE initiatives and other SHE competency programs to ensure adequacy, suitability and effectiveness. X Enforces SHE rules and regulations by giving advice and recommendations to the management and other teams.
Establishes SHE plans and programs in compliance with regulatory requirements and in alignment with the organizational goals in collaboration with relevant teams
Provides guidance and advisory in relation to the implementation of SHE programs, management of Safety, Health, Environment (SHE) Committee and development of policies and procedures.
Reviews and evaluates SHE programs through audits, verification and other assessment tools to adapt to changing regulations and company needs, ensure its effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
Ensures compliance with mandated SHE regulatory requirements through regular review, engagement with regulators and collaboration with other teams in order to complete and/or submit applications and/or compliance plans
Networks and represents the Company to external stakeholders as Safety Officer/Pollution Control Officer and be updated with changing regulations and industry best practices.
Reviews recommendations for corrective measures to address occupational health, safety and environmental issues/concerns.
Performs other related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by his/her immediate superior.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be a graduate of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Environmental, or Sanitary Engineering
Must be a Registered Engineer
With at least 7 years of experience in Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) or a related field
With a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role
Has led at least one SHE-related project
Must be able to attain Safety Officer and Pollution Control Officer accreditation within one (1) year of appointment
