As Plant Operator, you will safely operate the plant during startup and shutdown under both normal and abnormal conditions, while ensuring reliable and efficient plant operations through equipment monitoring, inspections, and operational support. You will work closely with the Control Room Operator and Shift Supervisor to deliver operational excellence, support maintenance activities through proper plant isolations and de-isolations, contribute to safe and reliable power generation, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be
Adhere to all local, corporate safety, and environmental policies and ensure compliance with plant operating procedures and technical specifications.
Safely operate plant equipment during startup, shutdown, and normal operations under both normal and abnormal conditions.
Perform plant and equipment inspections, monitor operational parameters, and promptly report abnormalities, alarms, and defects to the Control Room Operator and Shift Supervisor.
Carry out manual operating, switching, isolation, and de-isolation activities for electrical systems and equipment, including switchboards and transformers.
Support the safe and efficient operation of auxiliary systems such as the hydrogen gas generation plant, auxiliary boiler plant, baghouse, ash conveying system, energy recovery generators, and fire-fighting systems.
Read and interpret facility P&IDs and assist in troubleshooting operational deviations by recommending or implementing corrective actions.
Conduct routine operational activities, statutory testing, equipment changeovers, and startup/shutdown procedures in accordance with approved processes.
Maintain accurate operational logs, routine check sheets, and shift handover documentation.
Assist maintenance teams during equipment maintenance activities and support permit-to-work isolations and de-isolations.
Participate in emergency response activities, coach new trainees as required, and maintain cleanliness and housekeeping standards across the plant site.
Education & Experience
What You Will Need:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Chemical Engineering or related course.
Minimum of one (1) year experience in the Power Generation Industry, particularly in Assistant Plant Operator or Plant Operator functions.
PRC License is an advantage.
Experience or knowledge in power generation technology and plant operations is highly preferred.
Technical / Functional Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
Strong understanding of power plant operations, equipment monitoring, safety procedures, and operational troubleshooting.
Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
Strong analytical, coordination, and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
