Job Description

Working with the latest Creo drafting software to create 3D models. Reading and understanding structural engineering plans. Supporting the Design team through the sharing of knowledge & experience.

Key Accountabilities

3D Modelling / Drafting / Shop Detailing

• Accurate and timely production of 3D models / Engineering Drawings / Shop Drawings
• Creating Bill Of Materials
• Attention to every detail on every project
• Following the QA process to ensure consistent output
  
  

Communication

• Clear and timely communication between all internal and external contacts
• Liaising with Salespeople, Engineers, Project Managers, Architects & Clients
• Guiding & assisting Creo Drafters
  
  

Identifying

• Opportunities for process improvement within the Building Design Team
• Opportunities for value engineering (cost saving)
• Product development ideas

Qualification & Experience

Desirable / Mandatory

• Mechanical engineering, trade qualifications, or fabrication shop experience
• Previous experience in the road transport industry
• Design drafting experience in similar streams of heavy manufacturing
• Experience with 3D modelling software; Creo experience would be a distinct advantage, Inventor or SolidWorks experience would be satisfactory, as on-the-job training will be provided.
• Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards of drafting, welding, and heavy steel fabrication
