The Underwriter Specialist will coordinate and manage underwriting and asset management tasks for commercial property investments. This role ensures compliance with underwriting standards, prepares documentation for loan approvals, coordinates with internal and external stakeholders, and tracks post-closing obligations across the investment portfolio. The position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
Underwriting Responsibilities
Coordinate with credit to underwrite investments in accordance with the Underwriting Manual.
Prepare weekly pipeline reports and loan committee materials for the SVP of Underwriting.
Prepare opportunity memos for loan committee approval/discussion.
Coordinate with loan originators for document collection.
Maintain due diligence documents in SharePoint and Salesforce.
Review all due diligence materials prior to submission to credit.
Coordinate with legal counsel for loan document formation.
Conduct thorough review of loan documents for deal terms and accuracy and coordinate release to the borrower.
Coordinate with title and escrow to facilitate proper closing.
Upload all deal documents into SharePoint and Salesforce for recordkeeping.
Ensure completion of the closing checklist with all necessary onboarding information.
Ensure receipt of all closing and post-closing documentation and proper storage.
Asset Management Responsibilities
Track all post-closing obligations across the dedicated investment portfolio.
Receive and review all documentation and reporting from borrowers.
Reconcile supporting documentation for holdbacks and coordinate with PFS for distribution.
Coordinate with legal counsel for loan modification documents and servicing-related legal requirements.
Monitor delinquencies by following up with borrowers directly and prepare weekly reports for loans more than 30 and 60 days late.
Correspond with borrowers regarding potential payoffs or extensions.
Prepare weekly reports for loans maturing within the next 90 days.
Follow up on post-closing items and financial reporting; monitor loan covenants.
Work with the servicer and borrower in the event of default.
Procure, review, and coordinate payoff demands from the servicer and coordinate payoff timing.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial property underwriting and asset management.
Proficiency with Excel, CoStar, Salesforce, and other tools required to perform the job effectively.
