MSP Project Manager

Job Overview

Our client, a US-based IT Consulting and Managed Services Provider (MSP) serving mid-sized healthcare organizations, is seeking a detail-oriented Project Manager. This remote role focuses on granular task tracking, project planning, and ensuring technical deliverables are completed on time. The ideal candidate has a strong “task-master” approach with experience in client onboarding, critical path management, and project validation.

Client Overview

The client is an established leader in the IT services industry with a distributed team spanning the United States and an overseas development arm. They specialize in a comprehensive, flat-rate managed services model, taking full ownership of their clients IT infrastructure. With approximately 70% of their client base in healthcare, they maintain a high standard for compliance, security, and operational excellence.

Schedule

• Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CT (Tentative) (40 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

• Break down complex project goals into daily actionable tasks and ensure staff members meet specific delivery deadlines.
• Develop and maintain meticulous project plans, Gantt charts, and milestone trackers using tools such as MS Project, Jira, or ConnectWise.
• Coordinate the end-to-end onboarding process, including discovery, scoping, and the transition to go-live support.
• Manage dependencies, risks, and change orders to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
• Oversee testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and approval gates to ensure all technical implementations meet strict quality standards.
• Lead regular status meetings with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to provide transparent reporting on project health.
• Ensure all project lifecycles remain compliant with MSP service level agreements and healthcare-specific regulations.

Requirements

• Experience: 3–5 years of Project management experience, specifically within an MSP or IT services environment involving technical deployments.
• Methodology: Proven experience with Critical Path Method (CPM) and complex dependency management.
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with cloud migrations (Azure, AWS), Microsoft 365, and general IT infrastructure.
• Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in project tools (MS Project, Jira, Monday.com) and MSP platforms (ConnectWise Manage or Autotask).
• Certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, or CompTIA Project+ certification is strongly preferred.
• Communication: Exceptional organizational and verbal/written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical tasks into project updates.
