We are seeking Senior QA Automation Engineer to join our Indian entity.

About The Role

MoneyGram’s Risk & Compliance Engineering team is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer with a strong backend focus to ensure the quality, performance, of our next-generation Compliance and Risk platform services. This role is critical in safeguarding our systems against regulatory failures, false positives/negatives in fraud detection, and downtime in high-volume transaction environments.

You will lead the creation of automated test strategies, frameworks, and pipelines for microservices that power fraud detection, transaction monitoring, KYC/AML processes, and sanctions screening — all with regulatory rigor.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automated testing frameworks for backend microservices and APIs, with a strong emphasis on integration, regression, performance, and security testing.
• Develop and execute automated test suites for RESTful APIs, message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ), and database validations.
• Implement test automation as code using modern tools integrated into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions).
• Collaborate closely with backend engineers, product managers, DevOps, and compliance stakeholders to define and validate system behavior under real-world conditions.
• Identify, document, and track bugs in Jira or equivalent platforms, and advocate for quality throughout the development lifecycle.
• Contribute to release readiness and participate in test planning, including risk-based testing and test case prioritization.
• Contribute to performance testing and load simulation of high-throughput systems in the cloud (AWS or equivalent).
• Participate in code reviews for test automation code, maintain test data strategies, and ensure test coverage in regulated environments.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in backend test automation within enterprise or high-scale systems.
• Expertise in automated testing frameworks such as JUnit/TestNG, REST Assured, Karate, or Postman (programmatic use).
• Strong programming/scripting experience in Java
• Experience testing Spring Boot microservices, APIs, and message-based systems.
• Proficiency with API mocking, contract testing (e.g., Pact), and service virtualization.
• Solid understanding of relational databases (Postgres, or Oracle) and ability to validate data at the DB level.
• Working knowledge of cloud environments (e.g., AWS), and Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions.
• Familiarity with compliance and risk domains such as AML, fraud detection, KYC, sanctions, or regulatory reporting is a major plus.
• Knowledge of security testing and data privacy principles (e.g., encryption, PII masking, GDPR-safe data handling).
