The Pricing Executive in the freight forwarding industry plays a crucial role in determining the cost structure and pricing strategies for goods transportation. This professional is responsible for evaluating market trends, analyzing tariffs, and understanding the competitive landscape to propose competitive prices that ensure profitability while meeting client expectations. The Pricing Executive must work closely with sales, marketing, operations, and finance teams to align pricing strategies with organizational goals. This role demands strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to foster relationships with clients, carriers, and internal stakeholders. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement pricing strategies for freight forwarding services to maximize profit.
  • Analyze market conditions and competition to optimize pricing structures regularly.
  • Collaborate with sales and account management teams to tailor pricing solutions for clients.
  • Identify opportunities for cost improvements without comprising service quality.
  • Conduct regular reviews of tariffs, service contracts, and customer agreements.
  • Work with carriers and vendors to negotiate rates and terms beneficially.
  • Monitor and report on pricing performance against key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards in pricing procedures.
  • Provide training to sales teams on pricing tools and strategies for effectiveness.
  • Support the finance department in forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Coordinate with IT to develop and maintain pricing tools and databases.
  • Prepare detailed pricing reports and presentations for senior management review.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Logistics, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pricing or freight forwarding environments.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and statistics.
  • Exceptional communication skills to present pricing strategies clearly to stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, pricing tools, and industry software applications.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing pricing strategies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams in dynamic settings.
