Civil Project Engineer (225-1017)

The Civil Project Engineer plays a critical role in executing and managing civil engineering projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This role requires a professional with a strong understanding of engineering principles, efficient project management skills, and a keen eye for detail to ensure all engineering work complies with relevant codes and safety standards. The Civil Project Engineer will collaborate with architects, other engineers, and project stakeholders to plan, design, and oversee construction and maintenance activities for infrastructures, such as roads, bridges, and other civil projects. This role demands technical expertise, problem-solving capabilities, and strong communication skills to lead efforts, report progress, and ensure the successful delivery of projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage civil engineering projects from inception to completion.
• Develop and implement detailed project plans and schedules for timely execution.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure all activities are proceeding according to plans.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project alignment.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in all project phases.
• Prepare and present project reports and updates to management and stakeholders.
• Estimate project costs and prepare detailed budget reports for financial oversight.
• Use engineering software to design and analyze structural elements as needed.
• Review and modify designs based on client feedback and regulatory requirements.
• Manage procurement processes and liaise with suppliers for necessary resources.
• Resolve technical issues and recommend improvements for project efficiency.
• Lead a team of engineers and technicians in various phases of the project.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline required.
• A minimum of five years of experience in civil project engineering preferred.
• Proficiency in civil engineering design software, such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Strong understanding of construction management, project planning, and budgeting.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight schedules.
• Effective communication and leadership skills to manage team dynamics.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one is a plus.
