Job Description

A CCTV Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing closed-circuit television systems that are used for surveillance and security purposes. This role involves working both indoors and outdoors in various environments, including residential, commercial, and industrial settings. As a CCTV Technician, you will collaborate with other security professionals to ensure effective monitoring and safeguarding of premises. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions. Moreover, a CCTV Technician must stay updated with the latest technologies and security industry standards to deliver optimal service quality and functionality.


Responsibilities

  • Install CCTV systems, ensuring all components are securely and correctly setup.
  • Maintain and repair CCTV equipment to ensure continuous and optimal operation.
  • Conduct system tests and regular inspections to verify proper functioning.
  • Collaborate with security staff to integrate CCTV systems with other security measures.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to clients and users.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on system status and maintenance work.
  • Ensure all installations and repairs comply with safety standards and regulations.
  • Update and upgrade systems with latest firmware and software when needed.
  • Provide training to end-users on system operation and basic trouble-shooting.
  • Track inventory and reorder CCTV components and parts as required.
  • Ensure documentation of all technical and service procedures are maintained accurately.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss projects, improvements, and updates.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification preferred.
  • Proven experience in installing and maintaining CCTV and security systems.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and CCTV equipment installation procedures.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills for diverse client environments.
  • Ability to work in various environments including residential, retail, and industrial.
  • Basic understanding of networking principles and video surveillance software.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel to site locations.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as project demands require.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality installations and service work.
